The exodus south begins with an October chill
The honking came from above, behind the thick cover of trees. Louder and louder the calls came as the large “V” of Canada geese flew into sight. The lead bird dropped behind to rest as another took its place. Leaves along the Sassafras River have begun to don the colors of fall. There is a chill in the air.Yellow jackets and wasps seem to appear just at lunchtime in an effort to share a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Just when the invasion of pesky autumn flies comes to an end, Imagine becomes a beacon for stink bugs. As I varnish the bright work, the Asian invaders land on the wet areas and walk away, leaving tiny little stink bug footprints on the freshly cleaned decks.
Over 100 landed within a space of two hours. With paintbrush in one hand and a rag in another, I swat at the incoming bugs while balancing on a six-foot scaffold. I understand that God’s critters only want a warm place to spend the winter, but please… not on Imagine.

The Details: When accompanied by one paying adult, WinterKids Passport holders receive free and discounted tickets, rentals, and lessons at over 50 outdoor recreation centers across the state. 5th graders get three tickets for each area; 6th graders get two tickets for each area; and 7th graders get one ticket for each area. There are no blackout dates. Many areas offer additional discounts for members of the Passport holder’s party (sibings and adults). The WinterKids Passport can be used throughout the entire 2010-2011 season, until the areas close for spring/summer.

His sole reason for entering the final PGA Tour event of the year was to keep alive his bid to become the first player to win the money title on both sides of the Atlantic. The bonus of capturing the PGA Tour money title was that it surely would make him the frontrunner, if not the overwhelming favorite, as player of the year.
Donald was better than everyone on the PGA Tour in two of the most relevant categories — money and scoring average. He and six others tied for most wins (two). Of that group, only Keegan Bradley won a major.
More telling is that in 14 of his 19 tournaments, Donald finished in the top 10. That’s a rate of 74 percent, a level of consistency matched only by Tiger Woods in the last 15 years. There’s a reason he has been No. 1 in the world since May.
