Case asks: Is she a heroic mom or a shrewd killer?

EARLY, Iowa (AP) — Something shocking happened one cold night a decade ago in this quiet country town of 500 people, but even now, just one fact about it all is undisputed:

Tracey Roberts, at home with her three children, fired 9 shots from two guns into her 20-year-old neighbor, leaving him dead on the floor of her bedroom.

Tall and thin with curly brown hair and blue eyes, she was 35 at the time. It wasn't long before her image appeared in newspaper coverage of the shooting and even on a national TV talk show, where she was celebrated as a heroic mother who acted in self-defense to protect herself and her young children from men who broke into her home and assaulted her.

Copper Pipe, Tools Stolen From Construction Site

A man working at 130 Flushing Ave. returned to the worksite on Monday, Oct. 17 at 7 a.m. to discover the chain and locks attached to the exterior gate compromised and $2,500 worth of copper pipe, fittings and tools missing. There are no cameras at the location.

Boo! Underneath The Bed

A 59-year-old man taking a nap in his room Sunday afternoon at a transitional housing facility for formerly homeless people on Carlton Avenue awoke to the sound of tapping under his bed. After discovering a person hiding underneath, the man ran out of the room and called 911. The man reported $60 in cash and a black watch stolen.

Chase Bank Robbed... Yet Again

A male entered a branch of Chase Bank at 402 Myrtle Ave. on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. and  passed a note to a teller demanding money . Man then left the location with the note and fled westbound on Myrtle. No cash was taken. A search for the suspect and/or any clues did not turn up anything.
